Fortunately they knew how to play football

End of the working week, so the subjects of our blog posts can be a bit lighter. This time, we're having a look at the less hot specimens in the football world. You know: even as a child, their parents had to tie a steak around their neck or even the dog wouldn't want to play with them. But as always, although they're quite ugly, they still get all the hot girls. Therefore: fortunately, he knew how to play football.

Do you recognize the following footballers/people from inside the football world? Good luck!

The French kissing of Arsène Wenger

In 1996, Arsène Wenger joined Arsenal and although quite a lot of fans would like him to leave, one cannot deny that the Frenchman has been the most successful Gunners manager ever, next to the longest-serving one.

What one cannot deny either, is that le Professeur has proven to have a predilection for football players of his own beloved France. Arsène likes them French, definitely. But do you recognize the following French transfers of Wenger (French nationality or bought from the Ligue 1)? Bonne chance!

Sleeping with the enemy: football players who played for both rival clubs

When you're a Manchester United fan you can't imagine ever playing for Liverpool. The same holds for Celtic and Rangers, AC Milan and Internazionale and certainly for River Plate and Boca Juniors, where football often means war... literally.

Yet, from time to time, some players cheat on their team and its fans and go sleeping with The Enemy. One shouldn't, but once a traitor...

As these kinds of things often come in handy playing football quizzes, let's have a look at some of them.

Red (Devil)? (Red) Devil?

The first one ever was Tom Chorlton, leaving Liverpool for United. The last one was Phil Chisnall, already 53 years ago, fortunately. Ever since, no one ever dared to move anymore... although Liverpool tried to contract Gabriel Ivan Heinze from the Mancunians in 2007.

The others were: Jackie Sheldon, Tom Miller, Fred Hopkin, Tommy Reid, Ted Savage, Allenby Chilton and Thomas McNulty.
